What we collect, and why
See what data The Agents Index collects, how we use it and how to request a copy, correction or deletion.

The short version
- We count visits without cookies and use no advertising trackers.
- The only cookies are session cookies when you sign in, so there is no cookie banner.
- We store what you give us (an account, a subscription, a submission, a purchase) and use it only to run The Agents Index.
- We never sell personal data. It goes only to the services that run the site, or to a listed provider you ask to contact you.
- Email support@theagentsindex.com to see, fix, export or delete your data.
Visiting the site
When you browse, our own analytics record the page, the referring site, your country and a visitor code. The code is a one-way hash of the day, your IP address and your browser, and it changes every day. We don't store your IP address with it. Our scripts also record pageviews, engagement and clicks. They set no analytics cookies, don't carry your name or email, and aren't sent to any outside analytics service.
We count “visit site” clicks so agent owners can see the visits their listing sends. The click is stored without your identity.
Cookies
Signing in sets session cookies that keep you signed in and do nothing else. The submit form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to keep bots out, which may store its own state while it runs the check. We set no advertising, tracking or cross-site cookies.
Your account
An account stores your email address, your name and your password as a salted hash. We send account email only when needed: sign-in verification, password resets, receipts and renewal notices. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us; we never see your Google password and never post or act on your behalf.
Saved agents: as a guest, your shortlist stays in your browser. With an account, it is stored with the account so it follows you across devices.
The newsletter
Subscribing stores your email address, when you agreed, on which page and to which wording, and sends one email asking you to confirm. Nothing else is sent until you do. Every issue has a one-click unsubscribe link and a link to manage your subscription. Unsubscribing stops the newsletter at once, and the address stays marked as unsubscribed so it isn't added again.
Submitting or claiming a listing
A submission stores what you send us: the agent’s details and your contact email. We use it to research the listing (see how we rank). A submission without an account still needs an email address, so the listing has an owner who can manage it.
Asking to be contacted
Some listings have a contact form. Your name, email, company and message go to the provider(s) you asked to hear from, and only with the consent box ticked. We keep a copy to stop spam and settle billing disputes.
Purchases
Checkout runs on Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe, never to our servers. We store what was bought, when and for which listing, for billing and tax.
Who touches data on our behalf
- Cloudflare: hosting, storage, content delivery, email routing and the anti-bot check.
- Stripe: payment processing.
- Resend: sending our email.
- Google: only if you choose to sign in with Google.
We don't use ad networks or data brokers, and we don't sell your data. Outside these services, your data only goes to a provider you contact through a listing’s contact form.
How long we keep things
Account data is kept as long as the account. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe, and the suppression entry afterwards so you stay unsubscribed. Submissions and contact requests are kept while the listing or billing they belong to needs them. Analytics are counts, not personal profiles. Backups are for disaster recovery only and are cycled automatically.
Your rights
The Agents Index is run from the European Union, and EU data protection rules apply to everyone who uses it. You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction, deletion or an export, or object to any processing. Email support@theagentsindex.com from the address in question.
Our legal bases are our contract with you (accounts, purchases, submissions), your consent (the newsletter, contact forms), and our legitimate interest in keeping the site working, counting visits without identifying anyone and preventing abuse. You can complain to your data protection authority.
Who is responsible, and changes
The data controller is the operator of The Agents Index (Agents·Index), reachable at support@theagentsindex.com. When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
